4.1-kilometer White Road: Asia’s Longest Beginner Ski Run Opens at Year’s End

The Songhua Lake Resort, built along the banks of the Songhua River, is also scheduled to officially open on December 18. In addition to skiing and hot springs, attractions such as ice and snow worlds and rime landscapes offer popular highlights, making it a peak travel period. The Songhua Lake Resort, built along the banks of the Songhua River, is also scheduled to officially open on December 18. The resort features ski runs of various levels, allowing visitors to enjoy the thrill of skiing.

Hu Qingyu, chairman of Jilin City Wusong Travel Agency, said that the resort offers excellent snow quality and gentle winds, with a total of 34 ski runs categorized into beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.The beginner ski run is 4.1 kilometers long (approximately the distance from Taipei Railway Station to Songshan Tobacco Factory), making it currently the longest beginner ski run in all of Asia.Additionally, there are children’s ski runs and other facilities suitable for family trips.

Hu Qingyu also noted that the Songhua Lake Resort is about 15 kilometers from downtown Jilin City, offering convenient transportation. After skiing, visitors can explore nearby rime views or soak in hot springs. Independent travelers can also take high-speed rail to nearby cities for a more in-depth exploration of the northeast.

Li Huiping, deputy general manager of Jilin City Wusong Travel Agency, also revealed that an area near Changbai Mountain is known as “Demon Realm” due to its abundance of hot springs, unfrozen rivers, and thick fog that creates a magical atmosphere amidst the natural snowy scenery. It’s definitely worth a visit, and travelers heading to the northeast in winter can include Demon Realm in their itinerary.
