2015 Korea Shopping Festival Kicks Off – Discounts Up to 70% Off & Special Hotel Deals

Korea’s largest shopping and sightseeing festival, the “2015 Korea Shopping Festival,” officially launched on December 1. Running for 84 consecutive days, the event features 135 participating businesses with over 28,000 outlets offering discounts as high as 70% off.

Now in its fifth edition, the Korea Shopping Festival will take place across Seoul, Busan, Gyeonggi Province, Gangwon Province, North Chungcheong Province, North Gyeongsang Province, and Jeju, with 135 organizations including local governments, major department stores, duty-free shops, hotels, supermarkets, shopping malls, and art agencies. Together, these partners are providing a variety of discounts, events, and souvenirs as special perks for foreign visitors through their more than 28,000 outlets.

The “2015 Korea Shopping Festival” has been moved one month earlier from its usual January–February schedule to December. In addition to shopping deals, there will be various events. For example, visitors who present a shopping receipt (with a minimum spend of 500,000 KRW) at the event booth in Myeongdong can enter a lucky draw to win a gold key weighing one or two taels (ten qian), as well as over 500 other gifts.
