Long-haul flights take off with 777s！ China Airlines' 777-300ER departs for Los Angeles today

777 begins operating long-haul routes！ Starting December 1, China Airlines will operate the Taipei—Los Angeles route with its new 777-300ER aircraft, offering 40 fully flat-bed seats in Premium Business Class, 62 spacious seats in Premium Economy Class, and 256 seats in Economy Class, accommodating a total of 358 passengers.

Since the U.S. introduced visa-free entry for Taiwan in October 2012, the number of Taiwanese travelers to the U.S. has increased by more than 30%, marking a new chapter in Taiwan-U.S. relations. China Airlines has been operating the Los Angeles route since 1971 and is now introducing the 777-300ER aircraft to offer passengers up to 14 weekly flight options. China Airlines stated that this new-generation service will also continue to help deepen exchanges and development between Taiwan and the U.S.

China Airlines’ 777-300ER Economy Class has launched Asia’s first “Family Couch,” which officially began service today, featuring 10 rows (30 seats) that can be converted into sofa-style beds. To celebrate the launch of the Family Couch, China Airlines has introduced the “777 Gift” promotion: passengers who book the Family Couch will enjoy a 7% discount on the ticket fare, a 7% reduction in the Family Couch usage fee, and a 17% discount on duty-free items. Additionally, passengers traveling in the Family Couch on Taipei–Los Angeles flights before the end of March 2015 will receive a limited-edition airplane-shaped backpack called the “China Airlines 777 Family Fun Bag,” which includes a cozy blanket.
