Cold wave hits, temperatures drop to -2°C on Mount Taiping, frost-covered branches transform into a dreamy silver-white world

The first cold wave of winter arrived on the 17th, and the chill is also strongly felt at Mount Taiping National Forest Recreation Area. Early in the morning, park staff discovered that most tree branches on the windward side of the mountain were covered in rime, transforming the area into a beautiful silver-white world.

Since late last night, temperatures at Mount Taiping National Forest Recreation Area have plummeted to 0°C,and by 8:00 AM today, they had further dropped to -2°C. However, due to insufficient moisture, it did not snow. Still, the branches on the windward side were covered in frost, forming a spectacular and beautiful snow-white landscape.

Park staff also remind friends planning to visit Mount Taiping to remember the following when heading up the mountain:
1. If roads are icy, please install snow chains on your vehicle
2. Prepare warm clothing and rain gear
3. Wear non-slip shoes and walk carefully
4. Drive cautiously in mountainous fog and rain
