Taiwan Railways opened ticket bookings for the New Year's holiday starting at midnight today (17th). As of 10:00 AM, a total of 245,513 bookings totaling 420,017 tickets have been made. The Taiwan Railways Administration advises passengers to complete payment and pick up their tickets within two days at ticketing stations, post offices, convenience stores, or online. Tickets not collected by the deadline will be released again at 9:00 AM on January 19.

Ticket sales overview as of 8:00 AM today (17th):

East Coast Main Line ticket booking status:

(1) Taipei to Hualien & Taitung direction
From 1:00 PM on December 31, 2014 to 1:00 PM on January 1, 2015, long-distance Taroko Express seats are sold out; medium and short-distance Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.
Other dates and time slots for Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.
(2) Taitung & Hualien to Taipei direction
From 1:00 PM on January 4, 2015 to 9:00 PM, long-distance Taroko Express seats are sold out; other dates and time slots for medium and short-distance Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.

West Coast Main Line ticket booking status:

(1) Taipei to Kaohsiung direction
From 1:00 PM on December 31, 2014 to 2:00 PM on January 1, 2015, long-distance Taroko Express seats are sold out; other dates and time slots for medium and short-distance Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.
(2) Kaohsiung to Taipei direction
After 12:00 PM on January 4, 2015, long-distance Taroko Express seats are sold out; other dates and time slots for medium and short-distance Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.

South Link Line ticket booking status:

(1) Kaohsiung to Taitung direction
From 2:00 PM on December 31, 2014 to 12:00 PM on January 1, 2015, long-distance Taroko Express seats are sold out, but Fu-Hsing Express still has available seats. Other dates and time slots for Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.
(2) Taitung to Kaohsiung direction
From 1:00 PM on January 4, 2015 to 8:00 PM, long-distance Taroko Express seats are sold out; other dates and time slots for Taroko Express and Fu-Hsing Express still have available tickets.
