Haven’t managed to snag a ticket for the New Year’s holiday yet? Taiwan High-Speed Rail has announced that it will add three more train services during the peak travel periods on December 31 and January 4 (one southbound and two northbound), with pre-sales starting at midnight on December 20!

During the New Year’s holiday transport period, Taiwan High-Speed Rail will operate a total of 110 additional train services (61 southbound and 49 northbound), bringing the total number of available services to 900.The newly added services include: Train 1787 on December 31 (Wednesday) departing Taipei Station at 21:48 (southbound); Train 1674 on January 4 (Sunday) departing Zuoying Station at 11:48 (northbound); and Train 1676 on January 4 (Sunday) departing Zuoying Station at 12:48 (northbound).In addition, in line with the flexible compensatory leave declared by the Executive Yuan on the 27th, Taiwan High-Speed Rail will also add two all-stations-stopping train services on December 27 (Saturday): one northbound (Train 1508, departing Taichung Station at 07:12 and arriving at Taipei Station) and one southbound (Train 1529, departing Taipei Station at 18:48 and arriving at Taichung Station).

Taiwan High-Speed Rail reminds the public to book reserved-seat tickets early or make use of the 3–4 non-reserved cars per train during travel days to arrange their holiday travel or trips back home. For detailed travel information, please visitthe Taiwan High-Speed Rail website.
