Tuna sashimi lovers, rejoice! La New chairman Liu Pao-yu, a big fan of raw fish, has specially created a tuna specialty shop within Lamigo Club, hoping everyone in Xinyi District can enjoy delicious tuna. To celebrate the opening, from January 7 to 1 January 9, the classic tuna set meal originally priced at NT$699 is available at a special price of NT$99, with a daily limit of 500 servings.

Even though temperatures were low and cold winds were blowing this morning, there was already a queue in front of Lamigo Club early on, all for the chance to grab the classic tuna set meal at the special price of NT$99 (original price NT$699). This classic tuna set includes romaine salad, asparagus hand rolls, a vinegar drink to cut through grease, tuna sashimi, nigiri sushi (including swordfish, salmon, and tuna), grilled mackerel, mixed seafood congee, as well as dessert and fruit tea. Yang Shengxiang, head chef at Lamigo Club, said that to ensure diners don’t just eat sashimi, a variety of different ingredients are included—like the mixed seafood congee, which is meant to warm up the stomach at the end of the meal.

Yang Shengxiang explained that all tuna at Lamigo’s tuna specialty store is sourced from ocean catches and then rapidly frozen at -60°C upon arrival at port. Typically, frozen tuna is thawed slowly using constant temperature resting methods, but Lamigo’s store uses a special electrostatic 1°C thawing method, which shortens thawing time (constant temperature resting takes 36 hours, while electrostatic 1°C thawing only takes 24 hours), avoids damaging the tissue, reduces bacterial count, and best preserves the sweetest and freshest tuna flavor. As for how to enjoy delicious tuna, Yang recommends eating it without any sauces first, to savor the tuna’s natural umami.

The Lamigo Club Tuna Specialty Store offers four types of set meals: the Lamigo Classic Set (original price NT$699, opening special price NT$499), the Lamigo Imperial Set (original price NT$980, opening special price NT$780), the Lamigo Feast Set (original price NT$1580, opening special price NT$1280), and the Lamigo Premium Set (original price NT$1980, special price NT$1680). The opening special prices will be available for at least three months.

To celebrate the opening, from January 7 to January 9, the classic tuna set meal originally priced at NT$699 is available for just NT$99, with a daily limit of 500 servings (200 for lunch, 300 for dinner). Queues open at 10:00 AM with number cards distributed at 10:30 AM; for dinner, queues open at 4:00 PM with number cards distributed at 4:30 PM. Each person is limited to one number card, and dining time is 50 minutes.
