Nelson Kah Hock Low Appointed as New General Manager of Singapore Airlines; 'Premium Economy' to be Launched on Long-Haul Routes

Singapore Airlines announced that Nelson Kah Hock Low will assume the role of General Manager of Singapore Airlines Taipei Branch starting January 5, 2015, overseeing the operations of the airline’s passenger and cargo services in Taiwan. The outgoing General Manager, Teo Yiong Keong, will return to the Singapore headquarters to lead global corporate sales.

At 40 years old, Nelson Kah Hock Low holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore and a Master’s degree in Engineering from Nanyang Technological University. He officially joined Singapore Airlines in July 2001. During his 13 years with the airline, he served in various departments including Engineering, Product & Services, and Market Development. Prior to taking up his new role in Taipei, he was based at the Singapore Airlines office in Dhaka as General Manager of Singapore Airlines Bangladesh.

Nelson said, “Taiwan is an extremely important market for Singapore Airlines. The competition is fierce, and we aim to ensure the airline continues to grow steadily here.” He also noted that in 2015, Singapore Airlines will launch a brand-new Premium Economy product, primarily on long-haul routes, and will sponsor the Singapore F1 race, offering bundled travel packages for interested customers.
