“In Love with Orange Fragrance, Memories of Beitou” – The 2015 Beitou Tangerine Festival Kicks Off

The 2015 Beitou Tangerine Festival has begun. Beitou District Office has themed this year’s event “In Love with Orange Fragrance, Memories of Beitou.” From January 5 to March 19, visitors can enjoy Beitou tangerines, listen to melodious music, and appreciate the charm of old Beitou culture.
Tangerines are a type of citrus fruit, also known as New Year oranges, mostly grown in warm regions. Beitou tangerines were introduced around the Qing Dynasty. Thanks to the favorable natural conditions, they are especially sweet and rich in orange flavor. They were hugely popular for decades, and even today, the unique sweet taste of Beitou citrus remains unforgettable to long-time residents.
