Heavy rain knocks cherry blossoms to the ground—only 20% of blooms remain at Tamsui Tianyuan Temple

Due to the influence of the northeastern monsoon, northern and northeastern areas saw showery or thundery weather on the 23rd. The windy and rainy conditions in the morning caused the cherry blossoms at Tamsui Wujitianyuan Temple, which were in full bloom recently,to drop to just 20% of their blossoms remaining. A vast display of cherry blossoms like before will likely have to wait until next year.

Mr. Xu, executive director of Tianyuan Temple, stated that strong winds blew on the evening of the 22nd, followed by heavy rain in the early morning and throughout the morning, causing the once-blooming cherry blossoms to fall en masse and nearly all be gone—only about 20% remain. To see the sweeping cherry blossom scenery as before, we may have to wait until next year.
