With local low-cost carrier Tigerair Taiwan entering the Japan route market, Vanilla Air also announced today (March 26) that it will hold a Tokyo ticket promotion from 14:00 on March 27 to 22:59 on March 30. During the same period, Tigerair Taiwan will also sell Taipei–Tokyo flights for the first time, which is sure to challenge travelers’ computers and fingers.

This time, Vanilla Air’s promotional fares start from NT$1,388 (tax excluded) for one-way flights from Taipei / Kaohsiung to Tokyo, valid from April 25 to June 30. Flight departure times vary, including Taipei flights departing between 3:30 and 11:10, as well as Kaohsiung flights departing at 14:00 and 14:15. As for Tigerair Taiwan, which begins operations on April 2, it will offer flights departing Taipei at 07:00, and claims to have an “inaugural surprise price.” The head-to-head competition between the two low-cost carriers has everyone waiting with anticipation.
