The names of all C1-C14 stations on Taiwan’s first “Kaohsiung Circular Light Rail” have been finalized!

The official names of the 14 stations from C1 to C14 in the first phase of the Kaohsiung Light Rail project—currently undergoing dynamic testing—have been announced this morning, following a public and expert vote.

The “Kaohsiung Light Rail Naming Campaign,” which began last November, invited the public to suggest names. Expert panels then shortlisted recommendations, which were opened up for an online public vote. The names with the highest number of votes will become the official names for the future circular light rail stations.

The Kaohsiung Rapid Transit Bureau announced the official names of the 14 stations this morning as follows:

The first phase of the project, currently under construction, stretches from the light rail depot at the intersection of Kaisyuan and Ersheng Roads all the way to Shiziwan, spanning a total length of 8.7 kilometers with 14 stations. Currently 70% complete, the project will be completed and opened in sections. It is expected that the section from the depot to C10 Station (Glory Pier) will be finished by the end of July, with trial operations beginning in August.
