Forbidden City Trials Ticket Discount – Save NT$100 from July 1st

The number of visitors to the National Palace Museum has been increasing year by year, growing 1.2 times in 2014 compared to 2013, and it is estimated that the number of visitors will continue to rise in 2015. The museum stated that from July 1, 2015, to December 31, 2015 (104 year in Taiwan calendar), a trial discount measure will be implemented. Visitors who purchase tickets starting at 4:30 p.m. each day can buy discounted admission tickets without presenting any identification, in order to alleviate visitor congestion during peak hours.

The museum noted that ticket sales on weekdays and Sundays are from 8:20 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., while on Fridays and Saturdays, due to extended evening opening hours, ticket sales run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Now, starting this July 1st,visitors who purchase tickets from 4:30 p.m. onwards can enjoy a discounted price of NT$150 (original price NT$250),and the discount applies to all visitors. The museum further explained that the regularly scheduled extended evening opening hours from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays still allow Taiwanese citizens to enter for free upon presenting their ID.
