Precious moment captured: New Airbus A350 makes its debut in Taiwan with original factory livery

Airbus’ new medium-to-long-haul aircraft, the A350, landed at Taoyuan Airport for the first time today (16th) at 12:28. This is the A350-900 model, which will conduct demonstration flights on the 18th and 19th. Both China Airlines and EVA Air will participate in test flights.

The A350-900 appeared at Taoyuan Airport’s B6 apron during the afternoon. Originally scheduled to arrive at 12:00, it touched down in Taiwan at 12:28. China Airlines is expected to officially take delivery of the A350-900 in the second half of this year. The design will be handled by Chen Rui-Hsien, who also designed the B777-300ER. Between 2016 and 2018, 14 A350s will be gradually introduced into service.

China Airlines Chairman Sun Hong-hsiang previously stated that the A350 will have a different look from the B777 but will maintain a similarly high level of design, representing the style of a new generation and expected to further enhance Taiwan’s image. The A350 aircraft that made its first appearance today is in the original factory livery, making the footage of its flight to Taiwan particularly rare.
