Summer vacation is the peak travel season and also a time when many people plan to visit Japan. Affected by the U.S.-China trade war, the yen experienced a period of appreciation. On July 1st, it fell below 0.29, raising hopes among Japan enthusiasts for better exchange rates.

According to the cash exchange rate of Bank of Taiwan on July 1st, the buying rate for Japanese yen cash was 0.2767, and the selling rate was 0.2895. The yen, which had been on an upward trend since 2019, began to show signs of decline at the end of June, but rose slightly again on July 2nd, with the cash selling rate at 0.2903. Those planning to travel to Japan in the near future should keep a close eye on the rates.
