Fubao Wetland in Changhua is hailed as a paradise for waterbirds in central Taiwan. It not only features an ecological park that integrates humanities, ecology, education, tourism, and leisure, but also combines artistic landscaping with fields of blooming flowers. Recently, visitors to Fubao Wetland can also capture driftwood installation art full of a wild, open atmosphere.

Farmers’ Association Granary.
The Fuxing Township Farmers’ Association Granary was built in the 10th year of the Showa era during Japanese rule. Its main spaces are divided into three sections: the granary, the rice milling room, and the rice storage. The interior design features a rice milling room constructed from cypress wood, along with sixteen grain storage rooms. As a grain storage facility, moisture and rodent prevention were primary architectural considerations. It features the design of a clerestory window and is a highly valuable example of Taiwan’s industrial architecture. In terms of scale, it is said to be the largest granary in all of Taiwan.

The Uniquely Shaped Shell Temple.
Located on Coastal Road in Funan Village, the Shell Temple covers an area of about 200 pyeong. The temple’s name is Sanqing Sanyuan Palace, enshrining the Three Pure Ones, Yuan Shi Tian Zun, the Three Officials, and the Jade Emperor. It was built over 20 years by Mr. Huang Qichun using shells, corals, and seabed rocks as building materials. Due to its unique appearance, it has gained high popularity on online travel platforms.

Rich Mangrove Landscapes.
The coastal scenery of Fubao includes stretches of oyster farms and floating sea shacks built by fishermen in the intertidal zone. At sunset, fishermen drive three-wheeled oyster-harvesting tractors, while visitors often play in the water mainly around the intertidal zones near the Fubao Watchtower access road. As long as you time your visit with the tides and bring a simple shovel, you can dig up wild clams, shrimp crabs, and other seafood beneath the sand, enjoying the fun of harvesting.
