Cars can be test-driven, clothes can be tried on, and of course, bikes can be test-ridden before purchase. Experiential marketing has gradually gained attention in Taiwan. Merida Bicycles, which has been deeply rooted in Taiwan for over 40 years, continuously strives for breakthroughs in tubing technology and frame finishes. In 2014, it established Taiwan's first Merida Taichung Experience Center. After six months of operation, it received widespread acclaim and will expand in 2015 by offering a greater variety of trial bikes to meet all customers' needs.
Merida Bicycles has partnered with Oushengda to open the first bicycle experience center in the bustling area of Fengjia, Taichung, in May 2014. By integrating nearby attractions such as the Zhongke Bicycle Path, Tanyashen Greenway, and Metropolitan Park, it ensures a more relaxing and enjoyable experience. In 2014, the number of trial participants grew steadily, peaking in January of this year. In 2015, the center aims to build on this success by increasing the proportion of trial bikes in-store to 90% of all models available, while also expanding the range of experiences to include electronic shifting, triathlon time trial bikes, disc brake road bikes, long-travel mountain bikes, and large-wheel mountain bikes, offering a more diverse range of experiences.
The Merida Oushengda Taichung Experience Center is going further by creating Taiwan's first Merida used bicycle showroom. Oushengda has been involved in used bike recycling for many years, leveraging consumer trade-in demands as a stable source of used bikes. The 2015 trial bikes are professionally maintained and serviced daily during the trial period, making it no exaggeration to call them "premium certified used bikes." This initiative is highly appealing to budget-conscious customers who want to try different models, allowing you to own a high-end bike at a lower cost.
With the advent of the mobile digital era, the bicycle retail industry must also keep pace with the times. Oushengda has begun implementing a mobile app interface, allowing users to download the “Oushengda” app on their iPhones to access a range of innovative service features. Upon entering the experience center, you can also use the app to scan QR codes on display cards to view detailed bike rental histories, videos, and more. You can also access the latest promotions, such as the current offer of “one free bike trial,” to enjoy special deals. The app seamlessly integrates information on trial bikes, used bikes, and the latest offers, making bike shopping more convenient through technology.
