Nearly a thousand employees and their families from Taipower’s Changhua District gathered this morning in Xizhou Township farmland to take part in a grand cauliflower field walk and radish-pulling event. The Taipower Employees’ Welfare Committee partners with local farmers every year to grow radishes, allowing employees to enjoy a fun, family-friendly “good omen” radish-pulling experience before Lunar New Year. Qiu Qinghui, general manager of the district office, said that such a large-scale event for a thousand people costs less than NT$100,000, making it not only economical but also meaningful in boosting the rural economy.
