Capturing family travel moments through a child’s eyes is truly precious. Xu [Name Redacted] from Erhsin Elementary School participated in the “2015 I Love Taiwan, My Home” painting competition. With a piece themed around a group trip to Zhongzheng Park in Keelung, she depicted the joyful image of a happy family outing, winning the favor of the judges and securing second place nationally.

The “2015 I Love Taiwan, My Home” competition is organized by the North Taiwan Regional Development Promotion Committee. Through this painting contest, the organizers aim to encourage children to use their imagination to portray the Taiwan they grow up in—their home. All selected artworks will be printed and displayed at the National Development Council’s “Territorial Spatial Development Special Exhibition” this year.

Xu [Name Redacted], a first-grade student at Erhsin Elementary School, won second place in the lower-grade category. She has had a strong interest in drawing since childhood, and her parents often take her out on weekends with her art supplies, allowing her to paint scenes as she sees them.

Xu [Name Redacted]’s entry for this competition featured the Grand Buddha Square at Zhongzheng Park in Keelung City, portraying a vibrant scene of tourists enjoying a happy parent-child trip. Rich in color and radiating warmth and happiness, the artwork also reflects Xu [Name Redacted]’s deep love for her home. It vividly showcases Zhongzheng Park as a vibrant, healthy, and sustainable happy home, earning high praise from the judges.

Xu’s mother mentioned that her daughter loves to paint outdoors and that she simply follows her interests, spending quality parent-child time together. On weekends, classmates also gather to paint with her, and the family hopes she can grow up happy every day.

On Children’s Day, Xu [Name Redacted] will also bring her award-winning artwork to receive recognition and an award from the organizing committee.
