The “Paper Windmill Family Creative Fun Fair” made its grand debut at Hsinchu City Cultural Park, running for three consecutive days during the National Day holiday. With entertaining theater shows and giant mascots, the event attracted families in droves, earning widespread acclaim. It concluded on the afternoon of the 11th, drawing over 10,000 attendees daily on average, much to the delight of the organizers and Legislator Ko Chien-ming, who served as the public welfare ambassador. The Paper Windmill will continue with events at Niupu Night Market, Xiangshan Tianhou Temple, and in front of the Confucius Temple, and the public is welcome to attend.

With recent cooler temperatures in Hsinchu and no sunshine in the morning, organizers admitted they had worried about turnout. However, by noon, the venue was bustling with large crowds. Ko Chien-ming, preoccupied with election tasks, still made time to join the fun with the public.

On the spot, Ko Chien-ming promised to strive to bring the event back to Hsinchu. He immediately contacted CEO Li Yong-feng, who readily agreed.

The Paper Windmill will hold events on the 16th and 17th, and 30th of this month at Niupu Night Market, Xiangshan Tianhou Temple, and the square in front of the Confucius Temple, featuring performances by the Takao Wild Song Troupe, Tang Mei-yun’s Taiwanese Opera, and the If Children’s Theater, continuing to deliver a rich cultural and artistic experience to residents.

Li Yong-feng noted that this is the first time the Paper Windmill Family Creative Fun Fair has been held in Hsinchu, and also the largest-scale event he has organized in Taiwan, featuring many newly created exhibition artworks. He expressed gratitude to the behind-the-scenes team, Ko Chien-ming, the Hsinchu City Government, and Hsinchu Logistics, which has been a long-standing and generous sponsor of the Paper Windmill’s public welfare initiatives. Amid an election-season National Day holiday filled with political fervor, Hsinchu has become a humanistic and tech-driven city full of love and care.
