To celebrate Taiwan Reading Day and cultivate reading habits among young children, the Zhubei County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau Library promoted reading on the 2nd through parent-child challenge games, creative DIY activities, and the NG Books Incredible Picture Book Exhibition. Participants could exchange prizes upon completing activity challenges, with the goal of spreading a love for books.
The "Joy of Reading Imagination Park" event, organized by the Zhubei County Cultural Affairs Bureau Library, was held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the 2nd in the outdoor plaza of the Cultural Affairs Bureau Library. The event featured nine major themes: parent-child challenge games, Happy Market, Bring Your Books to Trade, Collect Hearts for Book Sets, Creative DIY, NG Books Incredible Picture Book Exhibition, Read Picture Books and Listen to Stories, Magic Fantasy Journey, and Max Battle, inviting families to join in.
The event began at 9:00 AM with classes by "Joyful Reading Sprouts," where children experienced the role of librarians through role-playing. Inside the library, the "NG Books Incredible – Parent-Child Picture Book Exhibition" was displayed, where families used damaged or discarded books from the library to create unique 3D picture books. The public could vote for the best picture book, and anyone who participated in the voting could exchange for a cute eraser.
Additionally, a "Book Exchange Activity" was held on the same day, inviting the public to trade books. The B1 outdoor reading area of the library was set up as a "Treasure Hunt" zone, where visitors could participate in a book exchange points activity by donating two valid paper receipts from November or December of this year.
The event also featured a Dream Castle Zone and a Cat Bus Picnic Area, providing opportunities for parent-child photos and a magical fantasy journey, immersing families in the charm of fairy tales. There were also creative DIY activities where parents and children could participate together, stimulating children’s potential, enhancing hands-on and cognitive skills, and fostering parent-child interaction through collaborative creation.
