Octopus-Shaped Slide: A Highlight at Xibei Park

Parks should not only be fun but also feature creative designs. Located on Section 2, Duxing Road in Banqiao, Xibei Park has undergone a distinctive renovation with a large, Q-version octopus-shaped terrazzo inclusive slide. The octopus’s tentacles have been designed as various recreational facilities suitable for children, combining entertainment with thoughtful design. The project is nearing completion and will open to the public after obtaining safety certification.

Perfect for parent-child play

In addition to featuring four slides of varying widths, heights, and speeds that are suitable for solo riders or parent-child duos, the large Q-version octopus slide also includes a spacious sandpit covering approximately 144 square meters. Other play facilities such as climbing structures, a large ocean-themed hand and foot washing pool, and nest-style swings are all ideal for family fun.

Meanwhile, the traditional hard-surface pathway in the green space near the library has been replaced with a flexible PU pathway. The park continues to undergo greening efforts and offers a variety of recreational amenities, suitable for both active and quiet activities. This allows children, teenagers, and children with disabilities to enjoy safe and comfortable playtime with their parents, fully embracing an inclusive and friendly environment.

Lin Jingbang, Magistrate of Banqiao District, stated that professional contractors began work in November last year. The overall site, along with the park’s greening initiatives, is set to be fully completed soon. The already installed large Q-version octopus-shaped slide is very popular, and to ensure the playground meets CNS safety standards, professional testing has been arranged to evaluate the safety of the facilities.

Charming Design with Safety in Mind

Lin Jingbang added that once the safety inspections are completed and relevant certifications are obtained, the park will officially open to the public. At that time, all citizens are welcome to come and enjoy the enriched and engaging park experience.
