Miaoli County’s Nanzhuang Township has introduced a slow-city tourism concept in line with this year’s Tung Blossom Season. The Nanzhuang Township Office has curated family-friendly itineraries and invites visitors from across the country to “Cycle to Appreciate Tung Blossoms in Nanzhuang,” immersing themselves in the beautiful rural landscapes and seas of white tung blossoms while experiencing the area’s vibrant local culture and Hakka traditions.

The “Cycle to Appreciate Tung Blossoms in Nanzhuang” event commenced on the 20th at the Nanzhuang Visitor Center, combining family cycling routes with the township’s pastoral beauty. Along the journey, participants can admire the romantic tung blossom scenery, venture deeper into local villages to experience village life and soak in the area’s cultural and historical richness. Nanzhuang Township Chief Chiu Tzu-tseng noted that the event will also feature a performance by popular children’s entertainer Banana Brother to delight families, as well as a prize draw with attractive rewards. The cycling tour offers three types of bikes—single, double, and four-seater—to accommodate couples, families, and visitors from around the nation for a delightful weekend getaway. Enjoy a slower pace of food and travel in Nanzhuang, taking a moment to breathe amid life’s hustle and recharge before heading back.

According to the township office, the event on the 20th will also feature a “Hakka Traditional Games Experience,” with various games inspired by Hakka culture and retro childhood activities. Those who complete designated challenge levels will receive special prizes. Registration is conducted online with limited spots available, so visitors are encouraged to join in.
