To expand family-friendly recreational spaces in the town, the Zhudong Township Office of Hsinchu County has opened the Erchong Family Park after Zhongzheng Park. The park officially launched on the 3rd of this month and features Hsinchu County’s first parkour facilities, as well as a relatively rare sandbox area, making it convenient for families to enjoy together. Zhudong Township Mayor Luo Jixiang also stated that as long as there is space and the township office has the budget, they would be happy to see each neighborhood develop its own distinctive park.
The Zhudong Township Office secured NT$5.6 million from the central government and raised NT$1.4 million on its own, with a total budget of around NT$7 million, to develop the Erchong Family Park. In addition to parkour facilities, the park also includes a sandbox, swings, slides, and other equipment to make it convenient for nearby residents to visit with their children. This is the second park built for children in Zhudong after Zhongzheng Park, and prior to construction, local residents’ opinions were taken into account to better meet public needs.
Luo Jixiang said that the township office values the development of the five outer neighborhoods of Zhudong, such as Touzhong, Erchong, Sanchong, Yuanshan, and Kehu, and has built the park with the support of the township council, hoping to attract more visitors.
Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wenke also attended the opening ceremony of the Erchong Family Park on the 3rd. He said that in recent years, there have been many new housing developments in the Erchong area of Zhudong. Although many are occupied by local residents, he is pleased to see the overall population of Zhudong approaching 100,000. The county government also supports Zhudong Township’s various construction needs. Recently, a groundbreaking ceremony for a bicycle path was held to address elevation differences and connect bicycle paths across Hsinchu area, which is expected to further boost visitor traffic.
The opening ceremony of the Erchong Family Park was specially contracted out. In addition to officially opening the various recreational facilities, the event on the day also included magic shows, ventriloquist puppet performances, balloon art, amazing bubble shows, and parent-child DIY activities, attracting many families to attend.
