Central Taiwan and Yilan Region Join "EasyCard" System: 164 Taiwan Rail Stations Accessible with Multi-Purpose Cards Starting June 30

Taiwan Railways Administration announced that starting June 30, central Taiwan and the Yilan region will fully support the use of EasyCard, iPass, ETC Card, and Taiwan Card. Passengers using electronic tickets to ride Fu-Hsing Express, Tzu-Chiang Limited Express, and local trains can enjoy a 10% discount on local train fares until the end of the year.

The multi-card system was already available on the western trunk line in northern and southern Taiwan, and now it has been extended to the central and Yilan regions.After June 30, the entire 164-station western trunk line from Su’ao to Taipei to Pingtung, from north to south, will be fully accessible with "multi-purpose cards."

With the addition of the multi-card system in central Taiwan and Yilan, passengers using electronic tickets to ride Fu-Hsing Express, Tzu-Chiang Limited Express, and local trains can enjoy a 10% discount on local train fares until the end of the year, except for Puyuma and Taroko Express trains. For Tzu-Chiang Limited Express trains, the discount applies only for trips within 70 kilometers; fares beyond 70 kilometers will be charged at the regular rate.
