Stars of Bitan Music Concert – Enjoy the Summer Breeze & Light & Sound Symphony

The New Taipei City Government Tourism Bureau is hosting the “2015 Bitan Stars of Music Concert” on the evenings of June 27 and July 4 at 6:30 PM, under the Bitan Suspension Bridge in the Bitan Scenic Area. Centered around the vibrant bridge light art and enchanting melodies, the event invites you to enjoy the summer evening breeze while taking in the harmony of light and music.

The June 27 performance takes inspiration from movies and Broadway musicals, themed “Stars,” and specially invites violin performance master Connie Mae from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music in the United States to collaborate across genres with Taipei Chanson Chamber Orchestra, an outstanding performing arts group from New Taipei City. The repertoire includes classic Disney animation theme songs, soundtracks from Studio Ghibli animated films, as well as timeless movie scores. A series of beloved film and Broadway hits will be performed under the light-adorned Bitan Bridge.

The second concert on July 4 features musical genius Fan Zongpei and his friends, taking audiences on a musical journey through time from 1935 to 2015. From classic Taiwanese folk songs and movie scores to deeply moving love ballads, over 20 timeless pieces will be performed. Let the music recall cherished memories, let the starlight shine brilliantly over Bitan, perfectly complementing the scenic beauty, attracting more visitors to enjoy the wonderful melodies and take in the stunning views of Bitan.
