When it comes to beef dishes, steak is probably the first thing that comes to mind, right? Because steak is the best way to judge the quality of the beef and to enjoy its most authentic, natural taste. Recently, a new restaurant called “Miusen Original Flavor Steak” opened on Section 4, Zhongshan Road in Taiping District, Taichung. It proudly offers whole cuts of beef, firmly refusing to use processed or marinated meat, all so customers can enjoy the most genuine beef flavor!! The best part is the extremely affordable pricing — starting from just 269 yuan, you can enjoy a steak set meal. There are also options for U.S. beef in PRIME and CHOICE grades, and all are offered at a set price, making it great value for money.

Their steaks are tender and juicy, delicious even on their own, and become even more aromatic and flavorful when paired with sea salt or garlic slices — definitely worth a try!! Compared to Chi Gui, which has similar pricing in Taichung, Miusen wins in terms of meat quality, service, and price. It’s one of the few places where you can enjoy an affordable yet high-quality steak. Now, let’s take a closer look at just how delicious “Miusen Original Flavor Steak” really is!!

The restaurant is located in the large commercial area near the intersection of Taiping Road and Xinxing Road in Taichung City, inside a fairly spacious building, and the entrance is quite noticeable.

There are many parking spaces nearby, making it very convenient to drive here.

As you walk in, you’ll see a cozy, earth-toned interior decor, which combines industrial elements with warm wood accents.

The green plants and soft lighting in the dining area create a relaxing atmosphere, and the interior design is quite stylish and youthful, making it a pleasant place to hang out.

The space isn’t too big, but it’s very clean, thanks to the regular visits by friends who help tidy up. The environment is also fairly quiet, not noisy at all.

Most customers come here with family or friends, and as soon as you’re seated, the staff will bring over a pot of lemon water and glasses. Sea salt and black pepper are provided at every table, while other condiments like ketchup and BB sauce are placed nearby for you to help yourself according to your preference.

The cutlery is also eco-friendly, as they use reusable utensils and avoid single-use plastics as much as possible. It's quite clean and easy to use.

All meals here are served as combos — meaning that for this price, in addition to the main dish, you get salad, whole wheat bread, corn chowder, smoothie, and dessert, all included without any extra charge for upgrades. One set price gives you a complete meal, and you can only say the boss is incredibly generous. The value for money is super high!!

You can also customize your order — if you want something specific, you can request it directly when ordering. You can choose rare, medium, or well-done, and even ask for extra toppings or sauces. If you have vegetarian friends, they can also add on for just 10 yuan.

They offer two drink options: a refreshing fruit tea and a rich milk tea, both made with high-quality ingredients, making them really tasty.

The salad comes with crispy fried chicken strips and is drizzled with a delicious sauce.

The salad also has plenty of colorful vegetables, especially lots of lettuce leaves, which are very fresh and crunchy.

The seasoning shaker they provide here is really convenient — you can use it to sprinkle both sea salt and black pepper. The whole wheat bread is pre-toasted and tastes sweet and delicious when paired with the butter on the side, giving off a rich wheat aroma. Pretty good stuff!!

The soup is usually served hot, and today we had a creamy corn chowder that was nice and thick.

Before long, the main course arrived!!

When the server brought it out, they carefully placed it on the table in front of us. The presentation looked so appetizing that it reminded me of how my family used to serve steak back in the day (nostalgia!).

Here comes the 6 oz U.S. beef steak (269 yuan) and chicken steak!! It was still steaming as it arrived, looking super delicious!! The beef steak came topped with sliced garlic, and was served with sides like baby corn, broccoli, mushrooms, and onions. The iron plate was mostly covered by a big chunk of sirloin steak!!

The 6 oz U.S. beef steak (269 yuan) is specially sourced from New Zealand. The restaurant recommends cooking it to 5–7 minutes, and we chose 7 minutes. They use whole, unprocessed sirloin steaks here — no combined meat or marinated beef — so no sauce is poured on top, allowing you to enjoy the most original, delicious beef flavor!!

The steak was tender and juicy, and when you cut into it, the aroma was amazing. The iron plate also came with sides cooked in black pepper sauce, which had a mildly spicy and delicious taste. The noodles were soft and quite filling too!!

The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a very satisfying texture. The corn chowder and seafood soup had a mild flavor and left a refreshing aftertaste.

The steak had a nice char on the outside, but was pink and juicy inside. It tasted great, and I’d love to try it at medium-rare next time — it might be even more tender and flavorful!!

Next up is the 10 oz PRIME grade U.S. beef steak (650 yuan). They carefully select high-quality PRIME grade beef, and the recommended doneness is 5–7 minutes. This time, we went with 5 minutes. 10 oz is no joke — it almost covered the entire iron plate!!

The 10 oz ribeye steak was incredibly juicy, with a rich aroma. The side of fries had a crispy exterior, and tasted great overall.

The medium-rare ribeye steak had a lovely pink color inside — tender on the inside, cooked on the outside — and looked absolutely irresistible. The iron plate was served with mushroom sauce, which had a subtly sweet taste. Friends who don’t like spicy food might prefer this option.

A 0oz ribeye steak not only comes in a large portion, but also boasts an impressively thick cut. It’s made from unprocessed, unmarinated whole cuts of beef, allowing you to fully enjoy the sweet and rich flavor of the meat!

The fat in this steak is well-distributed, and some parts are slightly marbled. When cooked, these parts become exceptionally tender and aromatic—truly captivating!

The ribeye steak also has some marbling inside, which, when seared properly, enhances the juiciness. Even the less-marbled sections remain tender. The combination of well-distributed fat and tender meat offers a more diverse texture—richly sweet and juicy. It’s delicious on its own, and even better when paired with garlic slices or sea salt. This ribeye steak was a big hit that day, leaving everyone with a lingering, satisfying aftertaste!

The chicken thigh steak (239 yuan) features a golden, crispy exterior that looks incredibly tempting. It’s served with sides like onions, baby corn, broccoli, and mushrooms, making it both nutritious and flavorful!

The chicken thigh steak looks plump and juicy, and the seasoning is just right—not too salty at all.

The best pairing for the chicken thigh is actually the combo set, which includes a balanced mix of sides. In fact, you don’t even need to add anything extra—it’s already perfect!

The combo set goes surprisingly well with the noodles. It was actually the most popular pairing of the day, so first-time visitors should definitely give it a try!

Next up is the chicken thigh steak—this dish is one of the store’s most popular non-beef signature meals, and it certainly looks devilishly enticing!

Everything arrives together, and the chicken thigh is easy to spot. The skin is golden and crispy, resembling that of the chicken thigh steak, and the taste is also quite good, though perhaps a bit richer.

The chicken thigh is juicy when cooked, and the skin is super crispy. The fries served on the side are also excellent. The golden, crispy texture really enhances the overall appeal, making it hard to resist!

After the main courses, we had dessert—profiteroles. The chilled profiteroles are filled with a custard that has an ice cream-like texture. It’s the perfect way to end the meal, leaving you completely satisfied!

In total, we spent 274 yuan per person, averaging around 425 yuan each, which includes the highest-priced ribeye steak. Honestly, the price is pretty reasonable!

The dining environment at “Musan Original Steak” is spacious and comfortable. Aside from steaks, the menu also offers other options like cod steak, pork chop, and chicken thigh steak—all available in set meals starting from just 239 yuan. The restaurant is committed to serving the most authentic-tasting steaks, carefully selecting PRIME and CHOICE grade American and New Zealand beef to deliver the true flavor of whole-cut steak. Generous portions, affordable prices, and great value make it one of the few steakhouses in Taichung that truly satisfies and leaves you feeling like you’ve had an amazing meal!

Among all, I loved the ribeye steak the most—the meat is tender, juicy, and leaves a lingering, unforgettable flavor. The sirloin steak is also tender with a bit of chew, allowing you to enjoy the natural taste of beef, and it’s highly recommended. Don’t miss the chicken thigh steak either—its golden, crispy crust paired with juicy, tender meat makes it an instant favorite, even for those who don’t usually eat beef. I suggest making a phone reservation before your visit, as dinner and weekend slots can be hard to come by. I highly recommend it—if you’re interested, you have to try it. Once you do, you’ll keep coming back for more. It’s truly a flavor you’ll crave again and again!
