Caesar Western Steak is a uniquely styled steakhouse. It’s only open on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays, and with great online reviews, you can imagine how hard it is to get a reservation—so Old K has had it on his radar for a while XD. But recently, a few must-try steakhouses were featured in the news, and Caesar Western Steak made the list again. After asking around if anyone was interested, E and Pao Ge both showed interest, so Old K decided to take a chance—and of course, managed to get a table！Otherwise, how would this article come to be XD？The reservation was for 1:10 PM on a Saturday.

The restaurant is located near the intersection of Section 2, Chang’an East Road, and Liaoning Street. The shop downstairs is Chiayi Bentou, and next door is a FamilyMart convenience store.

To get to the second floor from here, the chairs downstairs are probably for customers waiting. As soon as you walk in, you can feel that old-school Western dining vibe. Heading upstairs, there’s a large TV playing a Shishang Player episode introducing their dishes.

Needless to say, it was pretty packed inside—clearly, the space is quite small, and the seating is a bit tight. But hey, we came here for the delicious food XD

Meal prices range from over 400 to over 600 NTD. On weekdays, they’re 30 NTD cheaper. There’s a 10% service charge. If you don’t want a set meal, you can also order the salad bar separately, but even that is 409 NTD solo. Add another 10 NTD, and you can get a Caesar cheese pork chop. Probably not many people order just the salad bar XD

Pao Ge and E both ordered the most expensive American CHOICE sirloin. Old K originally wanted that too, but then all three of us would’ve been having the same thing, so Old K went with the PS-grade sirloin. After ordering, you can go explore the salad bar.

None of us three were interested in the salad area, so we skipped it XD. We’ll check out the fruits up top after we’re full.

This is the cold cuts section. Everything is served in small portions with spoons and little plates—pretty cute.

Then there’s the cold and hot drinks section. Wait, where’s the cola? Turns out you have to ask the staff for it, and they’ll bring it to you.

Next to that is the ice cream section. They use Capico ice cream, and there are also several popsicle options to choose from.

The soup section offers two types: bacon corn chowder and borscht.

Then there’s the busiest area—the stir-fried and fried foods section.

And of course, the desserts and cakes for after the meal.

The bacon corn chowder had a decent amount of bacon, but it tasted a bit sweet. Old K thought it was pretty average.

Next to the soups, you can grab some garlic bread. It’s crispy and great for dipping in the soup.

The borscht, on the other hand, was much more impressive. The flavor was quite rich, and best of all, there was plenty of beef inside！It wasn’t tough either. Pao Ge alone drank four bowls XD

And then the steaks arrived！The bottom right is Old K’s PS-grade sirloin—such small pieces XD. Here, you can choose from three types of steak sauces: garlic, mushroom, or black pepper.

American CHOICE Sirloin(Weekday lunch: 609 NTD / Weekday dinner & holidays: 639 NTD)

The steak comes with a generous pile of onions underneath, preventing it from touching the hot plate and overcooking. First up, let’s look at E’s American CHOICE sirloin. E chose garlic sauce with mushroom sauce. All three of us went for medium-rare. The steak was quite tender and juicy, with a bit of chew but not too tough. Paired with the slightly tangy-sweet mushroom sauce and mildly sharp garlic, it was a great match. Though maybe the knives weren’t super sharp, it took a bit of effort to cut XD.

Old K still likes flipping the egg XD

Although Old K’s steak was smaller, it was a bit thicker, with a bit more tendon, so it needed a bit more chewing. Still tasty though, but the American CHOICE sirloin was better—it really is true that you get what you pay for XD.

Pao Ge chose black pepper sauce. Old K forgot to try the black pepper sauce.

Pao Ge even used a spoon to scoop the egg yolk onto the steak. The egg yolk on the steak looked so delicious！But Old K’s egg was already flipped XD. Oh well… time to hit the salad bar！

The lemon chicken tenders were surprisingly tender and soft on the inside, with a really crispy exterior. Out of all the salad bars at affordable steak restaurants I’ve been to, these chicken tenders were seriously delicious!

The little round balls below are called "dragon pearls" — they’re actually squid mouths. They’re big, super chewy, juicy, and very fresh when fried. All three of us loved them — Old K went back for seconds several times XD. The Hakka-style stir-fried squid in the top left corner was also generous in portion and tasty. Old K didn’t eat the fried rice on top though, because it takes too much energy XD.

The dragon pearls were gone in no time — Old K managed to grab a few XD. He also had the fried cuttlefish. That was pretty good too — their fried items are really high quality. They’re way better than many salt-and-pepper chicken stalls out there. Old K suggests they start selling salt-and-pepper chicken from Monday to Thursday XD.

After eating our fill, let’s have some fruit and cake!

Finally, let’s finish with an ice cream. Brother Pao said we should take a quick photo of the ice cream before it melts into milkshake XD. There are four flavors, but Old K only dared to try the peanut chocolate one. The chocolate had crunchy peanut bits inside — it was crispy and pretty good, not too sweet. What a filling meal this was XD.

Little tips from K:
It’s clear why business is booming — aside from the decent-tasting steak, the salad bar is really impressive. Although the price is a bit higher than your average affordable steak place, the value is still pretty high. The fried foods are really tasty, and the borscht is pretty good too, making you feel like you got your money’s worth. But if you’re someone with a small appetite, you might not get your fill. E has already said she wants to come back again sometime XD. Pick up the phone and make a reservation now. Although they’re only open Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, you can call to reserve on weekdays — don’t wait until Friday to call XD.
