The name of the new shop, "28 Seafood N<", clearly reflects its address. Lately, this seems to be a trend, with many new eateries naming themselves this way.

The owner of Mizu no Hana, Kunta, is finally expanding his business. A new branch has opened at No. 28 Zhuang'er Street, not far from the main store. The name "28 Seafood N<",贰捌两字一看便知跟地址有关。最近似乎流行这一套,一堆新料亭都用这方式取名。

Fortunately, I called ahead before heading out in the evening, so Kunta had set aside some fish for me—by the time I arrived, it was all sold out, which shows how good the business is.

I ordered the following:

Burdock hand rolls (NT$50)
28 Seafood N<(NT.350)
Mentaiko chicken wings (NT$100)
Grilled fish head (price available upon request)
Deep-Sea Luxury N<(NT.500)

It must have just opened—the second floor is bright and clean, but the decor feels a bit too homely.

The first dish to arrive was the burdock hand roll, paired with a chilled Suntory Premium Malt’s, offering a simple contrast of crisp and crunch. Kunta had specially brought over high-end copper cups from the main store, but I wasn’t used to them, so I eventually switched to the mellow sweetness of beer in a glass.

The Nikka 23-year-old whisky, needless to say, was first chilled in the fridge, then further cooled in a dedicated sake flask. Upon tasting, it delivered a pure and exquisite ginjo aroma.

Today’s chicken wings were great, stuffed generously with mentaiko. 28 Seafood N<

The warm miso comes just right at this moment, with the fish pieces cut neatly and not haphazardly. Finally, a whole grilled salmon head is served, and the remaining half of the 23% fat wagyu now pairs with the rich umami and gelatin, complemented by the gorgeous and colorful sweetness of the premium daiginjo sake — everyone feels like they’re flying.
