西沱古镇

西沱古镇

　　西沱古镇位于石柱县西北端长江边，与长江明珠——石宝寨隔江相望，是因古代商业发展而兴起的古镇。古镇中的云梯街是川盐济楚——巴盐古道的起点，是西沱古镇的核心建筑群，其街道一反长江沿岸城镇街道与长江平行的布局，而是垂直于长江，沿山脊走向由长江岸边直达山顶。晴天隔江相望云梯街，石阶层层叠叠，石板光耀刺眼，状如云梯，直上云霄，故名“云梯街”。云梯街长约1.9公里，共有113个石阶台面，1124级石阶踏步。云梯街两侧主要有下盐店、禹王宫、永成商号、南龙眼桥、北龙眼桥、民亭、万天宫、紫云宫、南城寺、张飞庙等文物古迹。

　　2003年11月被国家建设部、国家文物局评为首批“中国历史文化名镇”。

　　2008年，被评选为重庆市人文类景观“巴渝新十二景”之一，命名为“西沱天街”。
