Former Residence of Ulanfu

The Former Residence of Ulanfu is a national AAA-level tourist attraction, a key cultural relics protection unit in China, and a classic red tourism destination.

, 24 kilometers from Chasuqi Town, 70 kilometers east of Hohhot City, and 110 kilometers west of Baotou City. It currently covers an area of 1,530 square meters, with a building area of 560 square meters. - The residence is the birthplace of Comrade —. There are twenty-six existing rooms in the main house, east wing, and west wing, totaling 560 square meters. The main house displays study materials from Comrade —'s youth and some personal belongings from his revolutionary years, reflecting the growth, accomplishments, and noble character, lofty spirit, and revolutionary deeds of this veteran proletarian revolutionary. The residence has become one of China’s 100 “classic red tourism destinations.”

In 2007, the county government commissioned experts from the Tourism College of Inner Mongolia Normal University to complete the preparation of the controlled detailed plan for the red tourism area of the — Residence, which was subsequently reviewed and approved by experts. In accordance with the plan, 51.43 million yuan was invested in 2007 to complete the construction of projects including the health clinic, asphalt road, primary school teaching building, veterinary station, agritainment courtyard, and theater.

The entire scenic area consists of a red tourism zone, a folk village, an agritainment reception area, a cantaloupe picking base, and a vegetable picking base.

Chasuqi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Tumote Left Banner and the seat of the banner government. "Chasuqi" is a transliteration from Mongolian, meaning "house of papermaking." In 1950, it was the fourth administrative village of the fourth district of Tumote Banner; in 1954, Chasuqi Town was established; in 1958, it was renamed Chasuqi Wuning Commune. In 1960, the seat of the banner government moved from Salaqi Town to Chasuqi Town; in 1961, it was changed to Chasuqi Commune; in 1975, it was divided into Chasuqi Town Commune and Chasuqi Rural Commune; in 1981, the town commune was renamed Chasuqi Town; in 1984, the rural commune became Chasuqi Township.
