Ming-Qing Expo Park The Ming-Qing Expo Park is located in Taigemu Town. It was relocated and reconstructed from existing Ming and Qing ancient buildings in the Hohhot area and across Inner Mongolia, following the principles of “using original materials, preserving original states, and restoring the old as old.” The park gathers architectural works representing Mongolian, Han, Hui, and Shanxi merchant cultures from the Ming Dynasty to the late Qing Dynasty. These are organized by type, function, and size into a central area and several zones, covering a total area of over 300,000 square meters. Currently, the Old Ming-Qing Expo Park, composed of more than 3,000 Ming and Qing-era buildings, has formed a traditional architectural complex integrating ancient structures and historical culture. Based on the original functions of these historic buildings, it features various cultural landscapes divided into distinct thematic gardens with complete displays, including architecture, archaeology, folklore, art, and religion. This is currently the largest and most exemplary project in China involving the concentrated relocation and preservation of ancient buildings. The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development awarded this project the “Science and Technology Progress Award,” and it has been listed as a key cultural industry development project by both the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Hohhot Municipal governments.
