Border Fort Ruins

The Border Fort Ruins are a cultural tourism attraction.

The Border Fort Ruins are located on the right bank of the Erguna River and serve as the best evidence of the "Treaty of Nerchinsk between China and Russia."

In 1689, the Qing Dynasty (28th year of the Kangxi reign) and Russia signed the Treaty of Nerchinsk, which established the Erguna River as the border between the two countries, with the eastern bank belonging to China and the western bank to Russia.

Starting in 1727 (the fifth year of the Yongzheng reign in the Qing Dynasty), the Qing court successively established 18 border outposts (guard posts) along the right bank of the Erguna River, 14 of which were located within the current territory of Erguna City. Remnants of the border forts can still be found along the river.
