Oroqen Ethnic Museum

The Oroqen Ethnic Museum is located in the central area of Alihe Town, covering a construction area of over 2,800 square meters. It consists of the Oroqen Ethnic Museum, the 50th Anniversary Achievement Exhibition Hall of the Oroqen Autonomous Banner, and the Xianbei Ethnic Museum.

The Oroqen Ethnic Museum is divided into five sections: hunters, extractive economy, traditional crafts, material culture, and spiritual culture. It visually presents the Oroqen people’s pre-settlement lifestyle and hunting culture through physical exhibits.

The 50th Anniversary Achievement Exhibition Hall of the Oroqen Autonomous Banner uses photographs from various stages of development over the 50 years since the establishment of the Oroqen Autonomous Banner to clearly showcase the significant achievements made. Each photo is accompanied by explanatory text, and the exhibition also outlines a blueprint for the future development planning of the Oroqen Banner.

The Xianbei Ethnic Museum displays the production and daily life tools of the Xianbei people, recreating their way of life and economic conditions more than 2,000 years ago. The Xianbei were a branch of the Donghu people. During the late Qin and early Han dynasties, when the Xiongnu and Donghu were at war, one branch of the Donghu retreated to Wuhuan Mountain and became historically known as the Wuhuan people, while another branch retreated to the Greater Xianbei Mountain and became known as the Xianbei people. Research has confirmed that the Greater Xianbei Mountain refers to today’s Greater Khingan Range.
