Busuli Northern Frontier Military Culture Tourism Area

The Busuli Northern Frontier Military Culture Tourism Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

“Busuli” means “dense forest” in the Oroqen language. The tourism area was originally the Gaxian Valley Military Base, covering an area of 30 square kilometers. At that time, over a thousand soldiers worked for more than 30 years, investing 3 billion RMB to construct China’s largest military base in the northern frontier.

Busuli is now a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, with well-known sites such as the Marshal’s Building, the Northernmost Outpost, the Cave Command Post, the Exhibition Hall, the Underground Fuel Depot, and Military Lake. The area also features the pristine forests of the Greater Khingan Mountains, as well as recreational activities including shooting, water sports, tandem biking, ethnic song and dance performances, bonfire parties, and opportunities to experience Oroqen folk customs.

With its profound military history, the mysterious and rich culture of the Oroqen people, and a pollution-free natural environment, the Busuli tourism area has become a premium destination integrating red tourism, hunting ethnic culture experiences, wellness and leisure sightseeing, as well as adventure and scientific exploration.
