Tomb of Lin Danyu and His Wife

The Tomb of Lin Danyu and His Wife is a cultural relic protection unit of Tianhe District.

The Tomb of Lin Danyu and His Wife is located on Niulangwo, North Blue House Street, Yushatan Village, Fenghuang Subdistrict, at the foot of Fenghuang Mountain.

Built in the 24th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1759), the tomb faces south and is built with granite in the form of an armchair-style grave. It consists of a protective ridge, mound ring, offering hall, side slopes, and a moon-shaped pool, covering an area of 63 square meters. The protective ridge is constructed from irregularly shaped stones. Lin Danyu was the 16th-generation ancestor of the Lin family from Lie De Village. He was a successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations during the Qianlong reign and once served as an editor in the Hanlin Academy, as well as an examination official for Sichuan and Guangxi. He once remarked, “There can be noble families that last a thousand years, but not fame that lasts a thousand years.”

On October 19, 2012, it was announced as part of the second batch of cultural relic protection units in Tianhe District.

Fenghuang Subdistrict: Fenghuang Subdistrict is an administrative subdistrict under the jurisdiction of Tianhe District, located in the northeastern part of Tianhe. Its boundaries are as follows: to the east and north it neighbors Baiyun District, to the south it borders Changxing Subdistrict and Xintang Subdistrict, and to the west it adjoins Longdong Subdistrict. It covers a total area of 22.998 square kilometers and has a population of 28,500. There are 2 village committees and 4 neighborhood committees. The subdistrict office is located in the middle section of Huamei Road.

Fenghuang Subdistrict was established in December 2002, formed from the Kemuilang and Yushatan areas of the former Shahe Town.
