Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou is part of the Chimelong Tourist Resort, one of the first national 5A-level tourist attractions in China, located in Panyu, Guangzhou. The park is characterized by its large-scale free-range wildlife populations and self-drive tours, integrating the conservation, research, tourism, and education of animals and plants. It is recognized as "China's most internationally advanced national-level wildlife park" and is the world’s largest and most diverse wildlife-themed park in terms of animal species.

Chimelong Safari Park is home to over 460 rare animal species, including the “Ten World-Renowned Precious Animal National Treasures,” such as China’s giant pandas, Australia’s koalas, South African meerkats, Thai Asian elephants, Malaysian tapirs, and Sierra Leone pygmy hippos. Under the top-tier breeding and conservation techniques of Xiangjiang, these rare animals have thrived, making the park one of the world’s most important wildlife breeding and conservation bases.

Chimelong Safari Park is divided into a walking area and a safari driving area. The driving area covers nearly 1 million square meters and is the first of its kind in China to offer a self-drive animal viewing experience. Built against hills and shaped by water, it forms a unique natural landscape. Visitors can take a small train or drive their own vehicles deep into the jungles and grasslands of Asia to experience the thrill of being close to wild animals. The white tiger area here is the world’s largest free-range habitat for white tigers, while the African zone’s South African plateau and East African savannah are home to giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.

Chimelong’s animal performances are renowned both in China and abroad. The grand and thrilling White Tiger Performance features a large gathering of lions and tigers, where trainers dance with the beasts, walk with the tigers, and even sleep with the lions in a performance arena surrounded by fierce animals—what seems like an effortless show is actually awe-inspiring behind the scenes. The hilarious elephant performances and the amusing shows at the Flower-Fruit Mountain Theatre, featuring clever "simians," are both laugh-out-loud funny and eye-opening. The bird performance is also one of the best large-scale avian shows in the country, with the spectacular sight of hundreds of birds returning to their nests.

Transportation: Take Metro Line 3 directly to Hanxi Chimelong Station, exit from Exit A, cross the pedestrian overpass to reach the Chimelong Free Shuttle Bus pick-up point; alternatively, take bus routes 304 or 562.

Self-Drive Route: When driving into major roads such as Panyu Yingbin Road, you will see signs for the various park areas along the way. Route A: From Guangzhou Avenue South, cross Luoxi Bridge, then via Zhongcun on National Highway 105 to reach the Safari Park, approximately 25 kilometers and about a half-hour drive, with clear directional signs along the route. Route B: Via Huangpu Avenue, onto the Huancheng Expressway, cross Panyu Bridge, then take Yingbin Road, approximately 25 kilometers and about a half-hour drive, with clear directional signs along the route.

Chimelong Safari Park is located in Panyu District, Guangzhou.

External Transportation: You can take bus routes 304 or 562 and get off at Chimelong Xiangjiang Safari Park; or take Metro Line 3 to Hanxi Chimelong Station, exit from Exit A, cross the overpass, and transfer to the park’s free shuttle bus.

Internal Transportation: The park visit is divided into two parts: the walking area and the safari driving area. The safari driving tour is done via the park’s free train, which takes about 40 minutes.
