Guangzhou Dishuiyan Forest Park

Guangzhou Dishuiyan Forest Park is located in Shawan Town, Panyu District. Originally established as the Dishuiyan Bird Nature Reserve in 1997, the area has since become a haven for birds and wildlife.

As you enter the park, the expansive scenery is truly uplifting. The East Gate Square is covered with shady trees and adorned with open-air stone benches, exuding a harmonious blend of nature and space. Even more captivating are the picturesque scenes hidden behind the foliage. This idyllic landscape isn’t man-made but formed naturally by spring water flowing from Dishuiyan, which has created a pristine pond here. If you feel that your interaction with the mountain spring is not enough, continue along the mountain trail until you discover a mountain stream — only then can you truly appreciate the wonders of Dishuiyan. The park also features Qingluozhang, the third highest mountain in Panyu District.

Legend has it that over 4,000 years ago, Qingluozhang was an island in an ancient bay. Later, during the formation of the Pearl River Delta alluvial plain, the island remained standing tall on the flatlands like a barrier. Coupled with a nearby lush hill called “Luoshan,” it earned the name “Qingluozhang” (Green Lush Barrier).

Public Transport: Take bus No. 番29 in Guangzhou and get off at the Dishuiyan Forest Park Terminal.

Self-Drive Route: From Guangzhou, take the Xinguang Expressway or Huannan Expressway to Shiqiao, then turn onto West Ring Road (passing Shiqiao Third Bridge) heading towards Shawan Town.
