Located in Daxu Mountain, Sanshui Town, about 13 kilometers southwest of the county town, the scenic area features high mountains, dense forests, clear streams, undulating terrain, clusters of waterfalls, and exceptionally fresh air. At Daxu Mountain, the greatest pleasure is undoubtedly watching and interacting with the waterfalls. Winding your way up the mountain path, the first sight to greet you is “Banana Stones and Singing Zither,” where banana trees provide shade, rocks are exquisitely shaped, streams meander gently, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of elegant zither music. Crossing a wooden bridge, you can admire the White Crane Rock Waterfall, Wild Banana Forest Waterfall, Old Turtle Pool Waterfall, Gemstone Shore Waterfall, and Hidden Gold Cave Waterfall. Each waterfall varies in form, terrain, and water volume, resulting in uniquely charming and entertaining landscapes. It is said that a few years ago, local villagers searching for bamboo shoots unexpectedly discovered this unique and spectacular waterfall cluster. In addition to its abundant waterfall resources, the mountain boasts a high concentration of negative oxygen ions, reaching as high as 40,000–100,000 per cubic meter near the waterfalls.

Transportation: Guangzhou to Lianshan — Deluxe buses run daily from Guangzhou’s Provincial Bus Station directly to Lianshan, with a fare of 55 RMB and a journey time of about 5 hours. Lianshan to Guangzhou — Buses are available daily from the county station. Lianshan to Daxu Mountain — 13 km, reachable by tricycle taxi for 6 RMB.

Ticket: 40 RMB

Food: Raw fish, made from grass carp farmed in mountain streams. Steamed stuffed snails, where minced fish, meat, and other ingredients are stuffed into tiny snails — a very unique way to eat them. Lotus purse buns and bamboo tube rice are also local delicacies not to be missed. Staying with local Zhuang or Yao families offers an even greater chance to enjoy authentic local cuisine.

Accommodation: Hotels cost between 120–180 RMB, guesthouses 10–50 RMB.

Shopping: Shatian pomelos, wild lingzhi mushrooms (200–300 RMB/kg, street vendors sell genuine products), shiitake mushrooms, dried bamboo shoots, winter honey, and more.

Daxu Mountain Waterfall Cluster Scenic Area, with its high mountains, dense forests, clear streams, undulating terrain, and clusters of waterfalls, boasts exceptionally fresh air.
