Twin Banyans Spanning the Rainbow

Close to the eastern and western ends of Yongfeng's Wushi Bridge stand two ancient banyan trees, their roots twisted and branches lush, each conforming to the land’s contours. These banyans make the bridge appear as a rainbow bridging the two riverbanks. From afar, the twin banyans reflect green across the river; up close, you can hear the murmuring stream beneath the bridge, see fish leaping, and watch shepherds watering their calves—truly a modern rural idyll. The renowned poet Wei Qiu once wrote: “Twin banyans cradle emerald hues, guarding the rainbow bridge; under bright sun and clear river, the view is even more enchanting. Most captivating of all is tasting honeyed pomelos while chatting about the past.” Hence, it is beautifully called “Twin Banyans Spanning the Rainbow.” It is a great spot for photography enthusiasts.
