The Longwei Gully Scenic Area is located in Wolong Village, 15 kilometers east of Qinglongshan Town, on the eastern side of the main peak of Qinglong Mountain, covering a total area of about 3,500 acres. The area’s beautiful scenery is formed by its natural ecological vegetation and vegetation generated through soil and water conservation efforts. During spring, summer, and autumn, the woods are lush with trees and blooming flowers and plants, while rare birds and wild animals hide deep within the forests. According to incomplete statistics, the area boasts 68 tree species from 18 families and 207 species of wild herbaceous plants. It is especially well known for its medicinal herbs—wild ginseng has been found here, and wild lingzhi mushrooms have been harvested. There are approximately 200 species of wild animals, including pheasants, rabbits, foxes, badgers, raccoon dogs, hawks, cuckoos, and larks. This is a natural reserve for wildlife and plant resources in Naiman Banner. The sister mountain of Qinglong Mountain, Qingfeng Mountain, stands majestically with its steep and rugged peaks; Longjing Spring flows gently, nourishing the land. The remaining temple platform of Longquan Temple and the ruins of the Khitan Liao tombs add a rich cultural atmosphere to the scenic area.
