Era: Liao Dynasty. The Ling'an Prefecture Ruins are located north of Heichengzi Village, Kouhezi Town, Kulun Banner, Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. They are the ruins of an ancient city from the Liao Dynasty. The site stretches 600 meters from east to west and 680 meters from north to south. The base of the city wall is 6 meters wide, narrowing to 3–4 meters at the top, with remnants standing over 2 meters high. The total area is 408,000 square meters. On the western wall, slightly south of center, there is a raised architectural site measuring 60 meters north-south and 30 meters east-west, standing about 2 meters above the inner ground level. The city walls were built using rammed earth and wooden planks, with a base width of 20 meters and a maximum height of about 10 meters. Inside the city, there are cross-shaped streets and building foundations. In May 2013, it was designated and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh group of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level.
