Kulun Banner Religious Museum

The Kulun Banner Religious Museum was first established in 1993. In 2009, a new museum building was constructed in the new district of Kulun Town, covering a land area of 10,000 square meters with a construction area of 12,000 square meters. The total investment amounted to 45 million yuan, and it consists of three parts: a library, a museum, and a convention and exhibition center. Among them, the museum has a construction area of 3,500 square meters. Drawing on the profound historical and cultural heritage of Kulun Banner, it takes “City of Convergence, Charm of Culture” as its entry point and follows the overall design concept of “Famous Grassland City, Open Kulun, Harmonious Society, Harmonious Space.” It also reflects the traditional concepts and heritage of “harmony between man and nature, and harmonious coexistence.” It is the only comprehensive museum in China themed around Andai art and serves as a flagship of the “Hometown of Chinese Andai Art.”

The museum has an exhibition area of over 2,000 square meters, spread across two floors. It currently houses a collection of more than 2,000 cultural relics, with over 200 on display. The exhibition halls are divided into the Historical Relics Hall, Andai Culture Hall, Folk Custom Hall, Religious Culture Hall, Patriotic Education Hall, and Temporary Exhibition Hall. The exhibitions are richly illustrated and uniquely presented, showcasing the excellence of the traditional Mongolian art form “Andai” and displaying the ancient, profound, and distinctive ethnic history and culture of Kulun Banner. Since opening to the public free of charge in 2011, the museum has received over 20,000 visitors annually, including leaders at all levels, the general public, youths, and domestic and international scholars and experts. It serves as an important “window” for promoting Kulun Banner externally.

Kulun Town: Kulun Town is the county seat of Kulun Banner and serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of the entire banner. It is located 147 kilometers southwest of Tongliao. To the southeast and south, it borders Sibaozi Township of Zhangwu County in Liaoning Province and Ping’andi Township of Fuxin Mongolian Autonomous County, respectively, across the Hougen River. To the southwest, west, north, and east, it neighbors Baiyinhua Town, Liujiazi Town, Eleshun Town, and Horqin Right Wing Rear Banner, respectively.
