Jian Shan Temple

Jian Shan Temple is a cultural tourism attraction and a patriotic education base.

Jian Shan Temple is located in Gaoshuping Village, Dongkeng Town, Luhe County. The temple complex covers a total area of approximately 3,000 square meters, with a built-up area of 400 square meters. Its main structures include the Guanyin Hall, Buddha Hall, and vegetarian dining hall. The temple was first built in 1906, nestled against the peak of Jian Mountain, overlooking the county seat of Luhe. To its left is Shangjian Mountain, and to its right stands Renzi Ridge. Surrounded by undulating hills, lush forests, mountain streams, and cascading waterfalls, the environment is serene and tranquil. During the Anti-Japanese War, Jian Shan Temple served as a base for anti-Japanese guerrilla forces. In the Liberation War period, it was the headquarters of the Northeast Brigade of the Haifeng-Lufeng People’s Self-Defense Forces. A memorial pavilion now stands on the site in honor of the Northeast Brigade of the Haifeng-Lufeng People’s Self-Defense Forces, making it a patriotic education base in Shanwei City.
