Junde Building

Junde Building is a cultural heritage protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Junde Building is located in Hebi Natural Village, Jilong Village Committee, Shuichun Town, Luhe County. It was included in the second batch of cultural heritage protection units in Luhe County in December 2016. Originally built in the late Qing Dynasty and partially renovated in 1983, it spans a total width of 32.7 meters and a total depth of 29.9 meters, covering an area of 978 square meters. This Hakka enclosed house was constructed according to the principles of Yin-Yang and the Eight Trigrams. It features a “five-up five-down” wing house layout, along with left and right auxiliary wings and a main entrance gate. The wooden-tiled structure is adorned with intricate and beautifully painted murals of landscapes and birds-and-flowers on the beam friezes.

Currently, Junde Building is one of the better-preserved ancient residences among the Hakka dwellings in the county, holding significant importance for the study of local Hakka architecture and the inheritance of Hakka culture.

Shuichun Town: Shuichun Town is situated in the eastern part of Luhe County, covering a total area of 121 km². It administers 15 village committees and one neighborhood committee, with a year-end total population of 43,000. In 2005, the town achieved a gross domestic product of 450 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36%. This included an industrial output value of 250 million yuan, up 78.6%; an agricultural output value of 120 million yuan, up 9.19%; and a per capita annual net income of 4,020 yuan for farmers. The town-level fiscal revenue reached 2.8 million yuan.
