The Site of the Jing Palace in Jing Town is located in Xiatun Village, Shangjing Village Committee, Hetian Town, Luhe County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. Facing southeast with its back to the northwest, the original palace was built in the 26th year of the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1761), during the Xin Si year. It had a hard mountain-style roof and was constructed from earth and wood. Due to years of neglect, it fell into ruin and was rebuilt in 2004. The newly constructed Jing Palace has been slightly moved forward from the original site. It is 24 meters wide and 17.23 meters deep, covering an area of approximately 414 square meters. Two stone inscriptions commemorating donations for the 26th year of the Qianlong reign (Xin Si year) are preserved on the site, one of which retains only the upper portion. The Site of the Jing Palace in Shangjing serves as a local temple primarily enshrining the Three Sage Emperors—namely, the Emperor of Agriculture (Shennong), the Emperor Guan (Guan Yu), and the Five Manifestations Huaguang Emperor—hence it is also known as the Temple of the Three Sage Emperors. In addition, it also enshrines other deities such as the God of the Earth (Bogong Ye), the Great King Shigu, the Commanding Officer, the Left Judge, the Right Officer, the Thousand-Mile Eye, the Wind-Following Ear, as well as Guan Yu’s attendants Guan Ping and Zhou Cang. The Jing Palace is a product of Hakka cultural customs and holds certain reference value for the study of local folk history.
