Grahamstown, also known as "Grahan Town," is a city in the southeastern part of South Africa, governed by the Eastern Cape Province and located 130 kilometers from Port Elizabeth. The city was established in 1820 as a military outpost and rapidly grew during the 1820s. It is now an important city in the Eastern Cape Province.

St. Mark's and St. George's Church in Grahamstown is situated in Church Square and was built in 1824. Its spire stands at 53.6 meters, making it the tallest in South Africa and adding to the church’s grandeur. The National English Literary Museum, established in 1972, houses a vast collection of archives and materials related to South African English literature. It features three major collections: manuscripts, books and academic journals, and newspaper clippings. In addition, you can visit the Observatory Museum, and if you fall in love with the city, don’t miss the National Arts Festival held annually from June to July.
