Butterworth

Butterworth is a town in the eastern part of South Africa, governed by the Eastern Cape Province. It is located 111 kilometers from East London and has a history dating back to 1827, making it one of the oldest towns in the Eastern Cape.

Although not very large, Butterworth boasts relatively rich tourism resources, warm and hospitable residents, and rapidly developing tourism, with its economy primarily driven by the industry. It is a green little town surrounded by lush thorny bushes, dotted with colorful flowers. The Bawa Falls are located to the west of Butterworth, cascading down from a height of 300 feet, and are among the most spectacular waterfalls in the Eastern Cape. There is a popular picnic spot near the falls, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can even camp here at night.
