Cape Town Stadium (Cape Town Stadium) is located in Cape Town, South Africa, and is a football stadium rebuilt for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The stadium is also known as Green Point Stadium, which was its name before the reconstruction, because it is located in the "Green Point" area between two major landmarks — Table Mountain and Robben Island — hence the name.

In December 2009, the new Green Point Stadium was officially completed, with its capacity expanded to 68,000. However, according to the plan, 13,000 of the temporary seats will be removed after the World Cup to allow the stadium to host all kinds of large-scale events, including football, rugby, concerts, and other major activities. Nevertheless, shortly after its completion, some media commented that Cape Town Stadium was the "most expensive stadium in the world," with a construction cost of 4.5 billion rand (approximately 4.5 billion RMB), an exceptionally high figure even among top-tier football stadiums worldwide.

On the other hand, Cape Town Stadium is also regarded as one of the most advanced stadiums in the world. It features a retractable glass roof that can open in the middle — a design unique in the world. The first layer of the dome is made of 16-millimeter-thick glass panels, which protect spectators from strong winds and rain while still allowing light to enter. The lower layer consists of woven PVC fabric, which helps reduce internal noise. The entire stadium is considered a pollution-free "green stadium." When the lights are on at night, this multi-purpose stadium resembles a rose-colored bowl floating on a pedestal. The architects have dubbed the stadium "The Cape Town Goddess."
