World Wildlife Bird Sanctuary and Monkey Park

The World Wildlife Bird Sanctuary and Monkey Park, commonly referred to as "Birds World," is a zoo located in Hout Bay, Cape Town. As the name suggests, it is a zoo that focuses primarily on birds and monkeys, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching.

Birds World is the largest bird zoo in Africa and is internationally renowned for its wide variety of birds. The park is home to more than 400 species and approximately 3,000 animals, including over 330 species of birds, truly a paradise for avian life. Most of the birds are displayed in large aviaries, with over 100 aviaries in total, each with its own unique features. Visitors can enjoy different melodious bird songs as they walk through the various aviaries. Birds are the most captivating attraction in the entire zoo, but the park's most eye-catching residents are the monkeys — there are 38 of them. These playful and adorable creatures are extremely agile, and visitors must be careful not to let their food end up in the monkeys’ hands.

In addition to birds and monkeys, the World Wildlife Bird Sanctuary and Monkey Park also offers the chance to see other animals such as meerkats, green iguanas, turtles, and blue-tongued lizards.
